How do you know what is of value? My theory goes back to sales – ie. finding a problem that has not been solved yet….?

anuslee March 9, 2010 at 3:34 pm

My site has a pagerank 3 after started for 1 year while other older (4-5 years older) site only have pagerank 2. But when i looked at their content and mine….i discovered why.

Matt Cutts = Number One

RespectMyAuthoritha March 9, 2010 at 4:55 pm

sweetkisses you dont know what you are talking about.

Sure his a bit smug and rich, but he obv knows what goes for what.

If everybody applies the same SEO techniques to their websites, who is then gonna rank first?

The answer:
You must have authority content, meaning your information must be of better value to your customer than your competitors’ info.

Great and clear explanations here about how to get more visibility on Google.

I’d also like to recommend an online branding tool I’ve been using, called LookUppage (www.lookuppage.com), used to create web pages in a few simple steps, and the web pages are visible on all search engines and highly visible on Google’s 1st page. It’s great for businesses or personal purposes – just check it out and see for yourselves…

Awords does work its just because you dont no how to use it, everything from title to desc needs to revolve around your keyword – you prob dont get any ROI because the keywords your pushing are not niche enough to your industry.

O and the info Matt Cutts is giving is excellent obv he isnt going to give all the secrets to google algorithms but he is saying keywords in title tag and good content revolving around your keywords, with content updates which is the blog.

allbonusbets March 9, 2010 at 7:16 pm

I wonder how may keywords on 1 page are allowed or what percentage is the best balance.

If you don’t like the way Google does things, then don’t use Google. You’re free to use the Yellow Pages instead for your own search needs and you’re free to focus your marketing efforts there.

dusk884 March 9, 2010 at 9:10 pm

lol bitter much? Try paying them…you get all the results you want. They are a business, too.

mariushim March 9, 2010 at 10:01 pm

what would you do if you were him ?
how would you act, would you give out every google’s secret ?

thanks for sharing your thoughts ;)

sweetk1sse5 March 9, 2010 at 10:57 pm

Actually I just realised. If their index was SOOOO good, then genuine market leading companies wouldn’t be calling me with “Hey we do everything right according to Google, but we’re still not found help please.” I almost prefer the yellow pages.

sweetk1sse5 March 9, 2010 at 11:04 pm

what a shitfuck. He acts so damn smug with no respect to people who have businesses and their livelyhoods that depend on their bloody indexes. The way he nods, he acts as if he owns the world, and he doesn’t realise how impossible it is to get ranked just by starting a blog! what a joke. Never gives any real advice.

mozzmanau March 9, 2010 at 11:58 pm

Trust me its true. I have wasted so much money on Adwords and my site never listed. I changed the site around a bit and have now started ranking. I DONT and DONT recommend using adwords unless you have HEAPS of money to throw away to get it right and even then you can still waste alot of money

al0102030405 March 10, 2010 at 2:41 am

His comment about google not favoring sites that have adwords campains running was total bullshit.

tanit80 March 10, 2010 at 3:26 am

I would to fight in fightclub with him

TheFallenHero96 March 10, 2010 at 4:26 am
