I was looking for a Registry Cleaner Software for myself. We all know finding a application for Vista is tough and this time it was no different.

Why do we need Registry Repair Software?

Everyone loves to see their PC Fast and Furious. And for the same we need to keep it healthy and wealthy and for that PC’s Registry should be nourished properly.
Registry Repair Software can clean up your registry to make it quicker, fix a recurring error or broken link, or catch early signs of severe problems.

The most important thing to remember when selecting a registry repair utility is that safety is the most critical issue. You may end up removing vital pieces of information that can destroy your entire system if you are not careful.

The Showdown

After reviewing various software’s, the final showdown was between CleanMyPC and Registry Mechanic. Here are the points; I think can useful for the users as well.

Ease of Use-
Both the Software’s are user friendly and simple. Both follow the same pattern keeping the menus on the left.

Feature Set-
CleanMyPc has the Auto Start manager which grants instant access to programs which start automatically when you logon to your computer. This allows you to focus on individual programs and avoid automatic startup of certain programs.

Whereas, Registry Mechanic scans faster and detects more registry errors than previous versions. You can automatically scan the registry for errors, scan sections of your hard drive, and even scan the Windows add/remove list for errors.

Ease of Installation-
Both stand out well in terms of installation.

Safety-
Safety is critical to registry repair-the best programs hold your hand and warn you of dangers. Registry Mechanic does a good job of identifying potential problems and letting you know which ones have the most priority.

CleanMyPC detects errors in the registry and divides the errors into individual categories. After this process is complete, you may view the details of each error.

My Preference-
My vote goes to Registry Mechanic. I have used it before and was happy with it. But wanted to try something different. The reason I choose RM because it’s simpler and doesn’t confuse you much. Though we won’t find much difference between the two.

Looking for more comparisions and insight about these and related applications??? Read out the Registry Repair Software Reviews for 2008.

I have started my hunt for my next phone. Ideally, I would love to have a business phone with some outstanding features. I did spend some time behind it and I have collected quite a bit of information that might be useful for others as well.

Currently, experts are ratting Nokia E90 and HTC Advantage as a complete phone for professionals as both offers wide range array of business features. But before we go ahead, one of the things that we need to decide while buying a business phone is, whether we need to go for Symbian or Windows Mobile?

Office document handling

Score 7 – Quickoffice 3.8.9 in ROM provides a solid editing base, without being 100% perfect at round-trip conversions.

Score 7 – Word, Excel and PowerPoint Mobile are at roughly the same level as Quickoffice, i.e. editing most documents is possible and practical, but be careful about re-saving ‘rich’ documents and then sending back.

Photography

Score 9 – The E90 has a surprisingly good 3.2 megapixel stills camera, with proper auto-focus and LED flash, plus VGA video recording at over 25fps.

Score 8 – The 3 megapixel camera comes with auto-focus and a great LED flash. Allied to the large screen/viewfinder, it’s quite good, too, the best HTC has made.

Telephony

Score 10 – Nokia’s usual excellent reception and quality, backed up by the E90 looking and feeling like a phone.

Score 6 – No criticisms of quality, but you’d look absolutely stupid holding this monster to your ear to take a call. Strictly hands-free calls only.

Other concerns

The hinge mechanism is solid but klunky. It’s OK new but I worry that it will become too loose with time.

Magnetic attachment for keyboard is horrifically strong and comes with warnings about not letting the device or keyboard within 5cm of anything precious, like credit cards.

Yet both communicators sit right at the top of each product line and, despite the form factor differences, match well in terms of overall specification. So, the question is can either of them really replace a laptop?

Probably a year ago we saw Askville, an Amazon product coming into limelight. But since then we haven’t seen any such huge impact from their side.

Askville is more like Yahoo Answers, or should I say it was, as if we compare these two – we will see a huge difference between both the Products. Yahoo Answers, a big success and a life line for Yahoo and contrary to that Askville has been another ordinary site on WWW.

Here are the few points to draw a comparison between the Two

Point 1:
Yahoo Answers – Popular, Friendly and simple with clean interface and Askville – Lost cause and too many things tried at once.

Point 2:
Yahoo Answers has points system where as Askville has Quest Coins. With the coins, still people are thinking what the coins will be good for.

Point 3:
Yahoo Answers has its own way of representing things whereas Askville is more like a pool of information scattered everywhere.

Point 4:
Yahoo Answers has kept things very clear and organized, Askville has tried to copy them by shuffling things.

If I sit to pull things like that then I will end up with 100 odd points, which I don’t think nobody would be interested in reading it. In short, either Askville has to bring some new fresh ideas or soon they will be seen in the same pool where Google Answers is.
